The Lore of the Barcru Pt.1

When I was just a little girl I met a very interesting dog. He was a
very large dog; an Airdale I think, and quite a stern fellow too. He
told me a most incredible story. It was about an ancient magical kingdom
and the ‘Holy Barcru’, Nature’s bible as such. He told
me how things came to be what they are today and how once upon a time,
humans and animals spoke to each other in the same language.
“Let me tell you how it all began” he said. So we sat. He talked.
I listened. What he told me changed the way I looked at the world, and now
it’s my turn to share this magic with you, so make yourself confortable
and prepare for the most amazing story you’ll ever hear.
Long long ago, there was a magical time and place where no boundaries
existed between animals and humans. They even spoke the same language
and the divine was revealed in all of nature. Peace amongst all creatures
reigned for centuries. And so, the ancient knowledge of the Animal Kingdom
and its ‘Ten Creature Commandments’ known as ‘The Sacred
Order of Life’, were said to be contained within the “Barcru”,
the Animal Kingdoms ‘Holy Bible’ as such. Legend has it,
that within the pages of this Holy Book, revelations of our mystical
alliance with the animals are contained, and how we came to lose our
common communication.. Home to the Barcru, is the mythical ‘Kingdom
of Artura’ .
Hidden deep within a dense forest of giant black and green hardwoods,
Artura nestles where the mountains meet the sea. A mighty stone structure
resembling an ancient castle from early Celtic times, it was built by
the creatures who inhabited the magical realm; you know, dragons and
giants and the like. Artura is almost beyond human description in its
size and structure, as one would expect considering who built it!

Thick dark green moss sealed the cumbersome walls of the castle, and parapets
and secret walkways lead to other smaller structures adjoining the main
entrance. Huge statues guarded the entrance vigilantly. Mammoth, crocodile,
and a dog like creature - all loomed diligently. Upon entering the fortress
proper, your attention was immediately drawn to the beautiful floor. Stone
slabs of gigantic proportion lay perfectly, regardless of their varied
shapes and shades of copper colour. On passing through the main foyer,
we are once again aware of the stone giants watching our every move. Via
the ‘Hallway of the Ancients’, we finally arrive at the ‘Sacred
Meeting Room’, its energy intoxicating. With ‘hints’ of
Atlantis, it is dotted with massive crystals from the famous water-world.
To the left, standing some ten feet tall supported by it’s four huge
talons, we are drawn to the huge crystal lectern upon which rests ’The
Barcru’ in all its mother-of-pearl’ glory. In the centre of
the round room, sits the ‘Table of Wisdom’. An inspiring structure,
the massive fallen log stands several feet high and is at least some 3
million years old! Rotted in some parts and covered in a carpet of green
moss, it is shaped oddly at the sides and ends, time having gnawed away
much of its history. Around the table were ten stone seating tablets, five
either side, suitable for large animals to rest upon. At one end sat a
high back mother-of-pearl chair. At the other, two stone thrones. It was
truly a spectacular Kingdom. All in all, Artura was magnificent.
